Storing data is something that most programmers and Web developers need to master. The most common means of communicating with a database is through SQL (Structured Query Language). It is used to update and retrieve data from databases, and is used in a wide range of relational database management systems.
The standard SQL commands can be used to perform most tasks that one would need to do with a database, such as ‘select’, ‘insert’, ‘create’, and ‘delete’. SQL Server enables data management to be self-maintaining and self-organising, and supports both structured and semi-structured data. If you are a programmer or developer and wish to expand your skills with SQL Server then a recently revised and updated course by ACS Distance Education will help you to achieve this. The course covers all aspects of SQL through to building and maintaining your own SQL database.
